In 2018, one of the biggest places for studying bees and creating honey was established in Dubai. H.H. Engr. Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi has funded the Hatta Honeybee Garden and Discovery Center, which is a research facility where honey production uses cutting-edge technology. Hatta Honeybee Garden is considered the first place that offers visitors the chance to see and discover the world of bees from a distinct perspective. This center is the first research place to offer the chance to gather honey and experience beekeeping processes in the Middle East and North Africa. 300 of the 4,000 beehives that are owned by Hatta Honey and are located around the United Arab Emirates are housed within the bee sanctuary, which spans an area of 16,000 square meters. In addition to that, it is the habitat of a large number of native and non-native trees, including Samar, Ghaf, and Sidr.
