In 2018, one of the biggest places for studying bees and creating honey was established in Dubai. H.H. Engr. Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi has funded the Hatta Honeybee Garden and Discovery Center, which is a research facility where honey production uses cutting-edge technology. Hatta Honeybee Garden is considered the first place that offers visitors the chance to see and discover the world of bees from a distinct perspective. This center is the first research place to offer the chance to gather honey and experience beekeeping processes in the Middle East and North Africa. 300 of the 4,000 beehives that are owned by Hatta Honey and are located around the United Arab Emirates are housed within the bee sanctuary, which spans an area of 16,000 square meters. The bee sanctuary covers an area of 16,000 square meters and contains 300 of the 4,000 beehives that are owned by Hatta Honey all over the UAE. It is also home to hundreds of indigenous and exotic trees, such as Samar, Ghaf, and Sidr.
Since its inception, Hatta Honeybee Garden and Discovery Center has been at the forefront of educating thousands of visitors about the region’s long history of beekeeping, the role of bees as the world’s key contributor to the natural ecosystem, and the importance of preserving these creatures through planting trees, conducting research, and orienting toward sustainable beekeeping.
